Kayak Trip #4 Shadow Lake to Shadow Road Bridge - 4/24/12
On this evening, we paddled from Shadow Lake up the connecting stream to the Crystal River. From there, we paddled 3 hours upstream until we came to some rapids under the bridge at Shadow Road. Lynn took a spill there, and since we couldn’t paddle against the current, we headed back to Shadow Lake (about an hour). This was the most challenging trip we had taken so far, with quite a bit of deadfall to get around, a low farm bridge to get under, and it pushed our endurance as it ended up being about a 4-hour trip. It was a good chance to hone our skills.
